I will be spending my 30th Birthday (in July) in Italy, primarily in the Bologna area.

It will be my first trip there and I’m doing some real early planning. For those that have gone before, do you have any recommendations? I’m mostly interested in food, beautiful sights and experiences. I’m not too keen on typical tourist attractions unless they’re a must see. Would love to do a vineyard visit. Also don’t mind taking a long train ride if it’s worth it.
